A New King Emerges Chapter 21"Mom, can we meet you there instead of walking together?" Kasai asked his mother. She was busy getting Chi ready for the outing and Chi wasn't really cooperating.
"You need to meet in your classroom, right?" Sakura asked.
"Yeah," Kasai confirmed. "All the Academy students are sitting together and we're supposed to go to our classrooms first."
"Go ahead then, but make sure you don't leave your sister behind," Sakura insisted. "She's still little."
"Ok, Mom," Kasai said. He walked out of the room and shouted, "Senshi! Mikoto! We're going first!"
Sakura heard the door slam just as she finished zipping up Chi's jacket. "Are you ready little one?" she asked her youngest.
She hoisted Chi up into her arms and located Kenji playing with a few toys in his room. "C'mon Kenji, we need to go," she told him.
"Where's Dad?" Kenji questioned.
"We're meeting him at the Academy," said Sakura. "He had to work this morning and he said he'd mee
A New King Emerges Chapter 20“Kasai, time to get up!” said Sasuke Uchicha as he knocked on his son’s door.
Kasai opened his eyes, but didn’t move a muscle. He simply stared at the ceiling. The bed was warm and comfortable and he didn't feel like moving.
After a few minutes of no movement, Sasuke stuck his head in again. “Let’s go, you’ve got school!”
Kasai took a deep breath, exhaled, and sat up. He rubbed his right eye, stretched and finally slid out of bed.
It was a relatively normal morning in the Uchiha household. He and Senshi had school…and as of a few days ago, Mikoto was now a student at the Academy as well. Sakura would be taking care of Kenji and Chi during the day, and Sasuke needed to report to the missions center to see if there was anything on the docket for him to do today.
Kasai took about 20 minutes to get ready. He packed up his books into his small sack and headed towards the kitchen fo
A New King Emerges Chapter 19On a random afternoon just like most others, Emi arrived home early from the Academy. Her sensei had been called away for an emergency mission. However, since the school day was only about an hour from being finished anyway, the decision was made to just let the kids go home rather than make them sit in a classroom waiting for the end-of-day bell to ring.
Emi tried the front door and found it unlocked. She stepped in and removed her shoes before heading towards her bedroom. She did have one bit of homework to complete – they had learned a new jutsu today and she needed to practice it before tomorrow’s class. She decided that first she would relax and maybe get a snack before heading out into the yard to practice.
As she was walking past the doorway to the living room, she heard her parents talking. For some reason, she hesitated for a second and when she heard her father say “Emi”, she decided to stand off to the side and lis
A New King Emerges Chapter 18Hinata arrived at the tea house mid-morning. She and some of her fellow kunoichi had made arrangements to meet there kind of as a post-party gathering. Yesterday had been a big, busy day that involved many, many friends that she hadn’t seen in a long time. When Sakura had suggested this post-gathering, Hinata was quick to jump at the chance since much of her time as of late was spent organizing the events that took place yesterday.
When she arrived, she found that Tenten, Shizune, and Sakura had already arrived and had gotten a large table on the outside deck for their group to sit at.
“Can I get you something?” the waitress asked Hinata as she sat down at the table.
“Oh, yes…um….can I just have a jasmine tea?” she asked.
“Sure thing!” said the peppy waitress before going to get Hinata’s order.
“The party was amazing, Hinata. I just wanted to thank you again,” said Sakura.
A New King Emerges Chapter 17Sakura was sitting on the couch in the living room feeding the latest addition to the Uchiha clan (a boy named Kenji) when she heard a knock at the door.
“Kasai! Senshi! Can someone get the door? I’m kind of busy right now!” she yelled for her sons to hear. It was the late afternoon, so classes at the Academy had already ended and her entire family except Sasuke (he was on a mission) were at home.
“I got it, Mom!” Kasai shouted. “It’s probably for me anyway!”
Kasai ran to the door and opened it. “Hey guys,” he greeted. Emi and Hokori walked in and took off their shoes. “I thought we could work in my room.”
“Sounds good to me,” agreed Hokori.
The three friends whisked their way through the living room and Sakura and made their way to the sleeping area of the house where Kasai’s room was. The door closed behind them.
A New King Emerges Chapter 16“Well, well, look what the cat dragged in,” said the medical shinobi who was currently at the nurse’s desk on the third floor of Konoha hospital.
“Whaaat?” Sakura replied, still walking down the hallway towards the voice talking to her.
“Perhaps I was on a different shift than you the last time you were here, but I think it has been nearly six months since I’ve seen you,” said the shinobi.
“It hasn’t been that long…maybe, four months?” Sakura smiled and replied. “I know, I know…I just don’t get in here very much any longer. Only when I have a pre-arranged appointment with someone. I’m not doing regular shifts nor am I on-call any longer. The family’s getting bigger, y’know?” She patted her round belly….the next Uchiha was definitely coming in the next month or two.
“I saw that…and let me say congratulations o
A New King Emerges Chapter 15“I’m so happy you were able to be home for this,” said Sakura to her husband.
Sakura, now pregnant again for the fourth time, was now a full-time mother most of the time. She did, on occasion, and especially for friends and personal requests, support the medical needs of others. However, it was few and far between. With Sasuke’s entire clan gone, she never thought she would be so thankful for her mother and father still being around as they were willing to give her a hand with her children when her old shinobi life still called her.
“The Hokage called me to her office yesterday and presented me with a C-rank mission,” said Sasuke. “Obviously with me here, I turned it down…I thought it would be easier to deal with an angry Hokage than an angry Sakura.”
“She really got angry?!” questioned Sakura, surprised that her sensei would be upset over something as trivial as the refusal of a C-
A New King Emerges Chapter 14Sakura was preparing a true family dinner for the first time in a week. Sasuke had just returned home this morning from a mission to the Land of Tea. She thought it would be nice to prepare something that they could all enjoy together since one of the major pillars of the family had been gone so long.
She heard a light knock at the door. "Kasai? Are you there?" she asked so she wouldn’t have to stop what she was doing. There was no answer. He must not be anywhere near the kitchen. She turned the heat on the stove down so as not to burn the food that was cooking and left to answer the door.
When she opened it, she saw a familiar face there waiting. "Kiro?"
"Hi Sakura," said Kiro politely.
"What can I do for you today?" she asked the nine-year old.
"Um....is Sasuke here?" Kiro asked.
"Sure, sure. Come in and take a seat while I go check to see what he’s doing. He just got home this morning
A New King Emerges Chapter 13Sakura took a seat next to Sasuke on one side of the table while Iruka took a seat on the other side. It was a familiar scene for those people who had children approaching the age when they might be ready to enter the academy.
"I wanted to thank you for allowing us to postpone the original meeting," said Sakura.
"Well, under the circumstances, I think your reason for cancelling had to be among the best I've heard in a while," Iruka laughed lightly with his former students.
Sakura, once again relatively flat-stomached as compared to only two weeks ago, was now a mother of three. Mikoto was born to her excited parents with little fanfare and with an air of familiar repetition. Unlike the birth of Kasai when all this pregnancy, birthing and infant stuff was new to Sakura and Sasuke, they were now well-seasoned and well-prepared. Within a few days, Sakura was back up on her feet again, caring for her family with one additional loved child to take care
You're Not A PoetYou’re not a poet because of strung words
Together on row upon row again
Of blank verse or perhaps liberal rhyme.
‘Slam’ all you want, other poets wonder;
Your ignorance of couplets a blunder?
Yes! I speak harshly, but it’s no gross crime,
To point with honesty failed verse of thine.
No real poet discards upper case words;
Lets prose crawl on paper like listless worms.
You seek to free verse of those stern letters,
Sever away bleak capital fetters,
But it doesn’t sing of great speech sublime,
Rather, it sneaks of writing in spare time.
Wait! before you throw me in the icy Rhine;
It’s hard to put verse together in rhyme,
To make our dull words sound great all the time,
Hear them ring out loud, like a clear clock’s chime,
Heralding a poet’s summer prime.
Yet the sacred muses weep at your crime;
Your pentameter mangled thick like slime,
The subject not gilded in raiment fine;
Your bold ink font, crystal waters divine
Tastes bitter to the ton
